The Arc’teryx Bora AR is the best multi day backpack money can buy for long and extended hiking or mountaineering trips where you know you will be exposed to the elements. It is one of the only packs available that is truly waterproof and is also tear resistant. There are plenty of pockets that make this pack super easy to organize and plenty of zippers and a kangaroo pocket that allow you to access your gear easily.


The Bora AR is heavy weighing more than 5 pounds. If you are carrying a light load, this bag is going to be too heavy for you. This is also a very expensive bag and there are many others that have comparable features at half the price. While this company does make high quality outdoors gear, unless you are going to be frequently needing a multiday backpack that is made from waterproof materials, this may not be the right pack for you.

This Banchee is recently redesigned with new color options and is hydration compatible as well. This backpack is great for loads that are less than 45 pounds with super cushiony and padded shoulder straps that do well even against bare skin. At less than 4 pounds, this is a lightweight backpack but still has plenty of zippered pockets and a supportive, aluminum frame and a burly suspension.

The North Face Banchee is a light weight multi day backpack that offers tons of zippered pockets that would normally weigh a bag down. The suspension system in the bag is also adequate for hiking and mountaineering with loads up to the maximum weight limit of 45 pounds.


This is not a backpack that is made for heavy loads. If you are going on a multi-day trek and are carrying a lot of gear with you, this is not the back pack for you. This pack only has a capacity of 45 pounds and the suspension system is not meant to handle much more than that comfortably.
