MSR WhisperLite Internationale
Christopher:
After several trips of trying to cook over an open fire, I decided a backpacking stove was a must. Although I currently have no plans to backpack in Europe, you never know and the Internationale allows me a choice of fuels. Besides, when I purchased the stove, it was on sale for the same price as the standard model. I also like having the fuel bottle and stove separate. This allows me to pack the stove in my pack and fuel on the outside in case it springs a leak.

Upside:
Small and lightweight; the shaker jet cleans itself while you hike.

Downside:
It requires priming, and if you are not paying attention when the fuel in the primer cup burns down, you will have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes before you can start again.

Best Addition:
I strongly recommend purchasing the stove base to go with it. It adds a great deal of stability to the stove on uneven ground or rocks.
