Vasque Pinnacle
Christopher:
I must have taken about three months before finally deciding on these boots. When I finally did purchase them, I was still concerned that perhaps I bought more boot then I needed. My concerns were doused after my first winter hike. I love these boots. They feature a toe scree shield that actually runs half way down the sides of the boot for extra protection, a Vibram sole that grips almost anything, the gusseted tongue and leather construction create a nice water-proof barrier and at over 6" tall offer great ankle support.

Upside:
Work well in all types of terrain from well-groomed trails to 10 inches of snow; require little or no break-in period and offer excellent support.

Downside:
They are not the lightest pair of boots around and the stiff soles make stream crossing on logs rather daunting.
