Nike ACG Boots
Christopher:
I bought these boots long before I ever even thought about going backpacking. When we planned our first trip, they became my hiking boots by default because they were all I had. They lasted for exactly one trip. They were good boots, very comfortable and lightweight but were never designed for anything other than a walk in the park. They offered very little lateral support and even less when it came to keeping my feet remotely dry.
Upside:
Very comfortable; lightweight; no break-in time needed.
Downside:
Never intended for hiking while carrying any type of load on your back; they actually shrank after they got wet.
